1604cupsofcoffee asked: Just curious as to how exactly you are managing not binging. Are you counting calories? Do you have set meals? Do you have dessert or have a small treat to lighten the cravings? I'm so upset with this disorder... I'd be lucky if I got to 7 days binge free anymore :(
I try not to count calories, as that just ends up with a day of restricting and then usually a binge. I also do try to eat meals within certain times, and I eat at least 3 food groups at every meal (besides snacks). These are just suggestions from my nutritionist, but I find that they really work. And I do still have treats and things like that on some days, but I have found alternatives to sugary desserts, like raisins. I am pretty much addicted to them now, haha.
I know exactly how you feel with being upset with it, I have hit rock bottom at least 3 or 4 times in the past 2 months. It’s just so hard some days to resist, and then binging one day just creates a domino effect and the next thing I know, I’ve binged everyday for a week. It’s so stressful…but I believe in you, and I have complete faith that you can go longer than you ever have binge free. When you get an urge, the best thing you can do is distract yourself. I always take a shower when I think I am going to binge, and it distracts me long enough to where I just don’t want to eat anymore. The most important thing you can do though is to not starve yourself. It’s the worst thing to do when you’ve got this disorder, trust me (though, Im pretty sure you may already know that). Stay strong girl <3 Keep me updated and I’m always here if you need to talk.
